These greeting card designs are derived from some large panels I made for the background of my booth for a design show. I was inspired by the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages.The the scale is much larger, of course, and the patterns and motifs are more contemporary in execution. A stippled tomato red background was a dramantic foil to all the flourishes, flowers, insects and birds.
