Ripples 1
I have been studying water for almost a year now, and this painting pleased me a lot. I am painting a whole series about the subject of water with my watercolors. I call the series "Clear Water" and want to tie these paintings in with some environmental event about water. This painting and the following "water" paintings are not a direct copy of a photograph; they are composites of my observations, drawings, and meditations. I never use a projector.
Watercolor is the most difficult, I think, of all the media. A painting like this is a cinch if done in acrylics or oil, but watercolor demands a sure hand and delicate touch. No mistakes! I am so challenged by watercolor, and convinced that my subject and watercolor are a true marriage of intent and form.
